Opening Panel - Employees should be at the heart of FM Stratergy

The technological capability of today’s workforce far exceeds that of any previous generation. Many employees now have mobile telephones with instant access to the internet allowing them to interact with real time information about the world inside and outside of the workspace. Controls and protocols around how this information is accessed at work need to be considered not only to ensure a productive workforce, but also to assess the ways in which staff can access information about the workspace, traditionally the domain of the facilities manager.

In the future rather than communicating, for example, a building’s energy and sustainability
performance to employees in a monthly newsletter, facilities managers are likely to be informed by staff on how the building is performing in real time due to innovations in mobile applications.

Forward thinking facilities management professionals must consider what the requirements of employees of the future will be, and how these will need to be communicated.

Words from our attendees
  • Having been a salesperson for over 20 years I have been to many networking events over the years and I have to say, this has got to be one of the best! It was well managed from the outset but the calibre of attendees was far superior and the timings of all meetings were kept. I would definitely recommend this event to anyone who is serious about networking and lead generation. Looking forward to the next one!

    - Greta Read - Business Development, Pickfords
  • The CIO Event is a truly global event with international perspectives on current IT trends. These include the usual Social, Mobile, Cloud, Security, 'Internet of Things', Big Data/Analytics, Etc. It's somewhat unique in its format in that it provides keynotes, one-to-one meetings, workshops and open areas for discussions. Its strength also lies in the networking of its attendees both at the events and between times through social media environments such as LinkedIn.

    - Mal Postings - Global CTO - Quintiles
  • Another great event − one of the best I have attended ! Please pass on my thanks to all of the team at global events
which has helped make this CIO event one of the best I have attended. A great event theme, with good topics,
interesting round table discussions, super location and excellent gala dinner event with both Tori and the cancer research theme.

    - Vince Sparks - IT Director, Stobart Group
  • I just wanted to say congratulations on a great event and thank you all for your help, especially Ceri and Sarah who have spent time in advance and at the event with me to help me get the most out of the days here.I have really enjoyed the event, and made some good new contacts as well as insights into common challenges we are all facing in the CIO community. It’s been run superbly so thank you, and I look forward to the future events.

    - John Nother - Group CIO, Card Factory
