The purpose of the Advisory Board is to help us gauge what lies ahead and ensures the quality and sustainability of the CPO Event. By collaborating with some of the best organisations in the world, and key individuals in their field, we hope that the collective wisdom of this crowd will help us to unearth the things to come in Procurement. Our advisors are carefully selected to guarantee that it’s made up of some of the industry’s most respected, knowledgeable and innovative members.

 James Cay, Global CPO - BNY Mellon

James has twenty years experience in a wide range of operational roles including strategic management consultancy focused on sourcing and supply chain management, as well as twelve years in financial services including three years as a senior manager in sales operations including regional branch management.


Simon Leigh, Group Supply Chain Director - Whitbread

After previously working for Tesco plc, Balfour Beatty plc, The Co-op, LV, IQ Consulting Ltd and Costa Coffee, Simon joined Whitbread plc in October 2017 as Group Supply Chain Director, leading the Supply Chain function across Whitbread brands globally, such as Premier Inn, Costa Coffee and our Restaurant brands.


 John Farley, CPO - Engie

John is an influential strategic sourcing professional, with over 20 years international experience with a record of success in cost savings and driving business transformation within highly competitive industries, including Automotive, Complex Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities Management, Business Outsourcing and M&E. Extensive experience in the UK, Mainland Europe, Middle East and USA.


Paul Harlington, Group Procurement Director - TUI

Having worked at MBDA UK Ltd for five years as European Commodity Manager and Group Commodity Manager, Paul joined TUI Group in 2011 as an Group Indirect Procurement Executive, then Director of Indirect Procurement and finally Group Procurement Director in 2014.


Imran Rasul, CPO - BAE Systems

 

Imran leads the procurement function at BAE Systems across large multi category, multi location teams. He has a wide experience of sourcing both direct and indirect supply within demanding Pharma and Telco environments having led a number of complex programmes, and outsourcing activities.


 Richard Young, Group Procurement Director - Flybe

 

Richard has previously worked at Corus and Tata Steel, Ideal Boliers and African Minerals before joining Flybe in 2014. His experience lies in Manufacturing and Service sector procurement and supply chain, Aerospace/Aviation, the packaging and retail industries and Procurement responsibility for Direct and Indirect goods & services.


 Simon Potter, VP Global Procurement - Inchcape Shipping Services
 

Simon is an experienced FCIPS accredited Vice President of Strategic Sourcing & QHSSE with a demonstrated history of delivering results in the maritime industry. He is skilled in Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, Risk Management, Leadership, Quality Management, Budgeting, Change Management and Innovation.


 Scott Howell, CCO - Office for National Statistics

Scott has held the role of CPO at the Office of National Statistics since April 2006, as well as the role of Director of Service Centre since February 2014 and as a Director at Owll Developments Ltd also in 2014. Previously he worked at Howses Ltd for over 11 years.


 Iain Palfreman, Head of Procurement - Conde Nast

Iain is a highly experienced Procurement leader who has led teams in Banking, Professionals Services, Engineering, Legal and Finance sectors. He has created, built and transformed procurement functions, processes and teams turning existing, under-performing departments into award winning teams while also creating procurement functions in totally greenfield situations.


 Jim Hemmington, Director of Procurement - BBC

Jim has been an employee at the BBC for almost 24 years. He joined the corporation in May 1995 as Head of Strategic Contracts, holding the position until late 2011 before advancing to Director of Procurement. In his current role he is responsible for the BBC's external spend on goods and services, including the procurement of the BBC's outsourced portfolio, with a total spend of around £1.6 billion.


 Adrian Bower, Group Procurement Director - Ladbrokes Coral

Adrian is an experienced procurement, property and supply chain professional with 20+ years’ experience of transformation work. A values-based leader with a proven track record in industry and consulting roles building and managing excellent teams across multiple regions.


 Gareth Mawdesley, Head of Procurement - NFU Mutual

Gareth has held long posts at several organisations such as Lucas Automotive Electronics, TRW Aeronautical Systems, Goodrich Aerospace and Severn Trent Water. He has held his current role as Head of Procurement at NFU Mutual since May 2012.


 Andrew Croston, VP Indirect Procurement - Smith & Nephew

Andrew is a senior executive with proven leadership in procurement transformation, supply chain organisations and business change/optimisation. He also has extensive experience in leading private/public sector & consultancy engagements and operational functions, delivering performance improvement, significant cash savings and removing waste.


 MALCOM DARE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR COMMERCIAL AND PROCUREMENT - HIGHWAYS ENGLAND

Malcolm has over 25 years’ experience in FMCG, technology and heavy engineering industries having worked in procurement, supply chain, planning, logistics and operational roles. He has operated at both Executive Team and Country levels and has extensive complex business and functional change management experience.

At business level he has delivered a very large and complex SAP implementation on time and budget. He has delivered large cross-functional cost reduction programmes where the methodology has them been permanently embedded into the business. He has successfully redesigned procurement, supply chain and logistics operations and has been used to independently review other businesses complex change / IT projects. His current role is the Executive Director, Commercial and Procurement for Highways England.
