The programme is driven by our senior level Advisory Board including representatives from TNT, Henley Business School, Fox Networks Group, US Department of Defense and Wyndham Group.

CHAIR'S OPENING REMARKS

08:35 - 09:05

HOW DO WE REMAIN VIABLE IN TIMES OF UNCERTAINTY

COVID-19 has the potential to be as disruptive, if not more, to an organisation’s continuity of operations as a cyber-attack or even a natural disaster.
Hear how CIOs are preparing IT systems to safely and reliably handle a vast increase in remote workers whilst also delivering digital fulfilment of market demand.

09:05 - 09:45

The Future of Work is not all plain sailing

As the demand for digital skills in the UK continues to grow there are two main challenges. How do we reskill our current staff and how do we increase the size of the pipeline of digital skills overall? Perhaps more challenging is how the working paradigm is changing. The workplace can enforce ways of working which is alien to millennials. Their expectations are different to people who have been in the workforce for longer. Getting the most from new joiners to the workforce is now the major challenge to the on-going success of any business.

Words from our attendees
  • The event followed in the high quality style that we have grown accustomed to at these events. The location was fabulous, matched by a high quality delegate list and superbly organised by the team who ably helped me with any question or request promptly and without fuss. I am already engaged with one of the delegates in helping to present and position ECX to his US management. Looking forward to the Heathrow Conference already!

    - Sarah Palmer - Marketing Director, EQUINIX
  • Having been a salesperson for over 20 years I have been to many networking events over the years and I have to say, this has got to be one of the best! It was well managed from the outset but the calibre of attendees was far superior and the timings of all meetings were kept. I would definitely recommend this event to anyone who is serious about networking and lead generation. Looking forward to the next one!

    - Greta Read - Business Development, Pickfords
  • The CIO Event is a truly global event with international perspectives on current IT trends. These include the usual Social, Mobile, Cloud, Security, 'Internet of Things', Big Data/Analytics, Etc. It's somewhat unique in its format in that it provides keynotes, one-to-one meetings, workshops and open areas for discussions. Its strength also lies in the networking of its attendees both at the events and between times through social media environments such as LinkedIn.

    - Mal Postings - Global CTO - Quintiles
  • This was our first experience with Global Business Events and first impressions are important. I was impressed by the level of seniority at the event. The venue worked well, the size of the event was good for networking and the 1−2−1 business
meetings were strong. Well done and I look forward to the next event’.

    - Rob Simms - Sales Director, BOX
